Living the Outdoors

Uncle Mah and Aunty Vicky took us to Port Arthur and the nearby sights today. During one of our stops, they asked if we wanted a cup of tea or coffee. I asked for a cup of tea, expecting them to have brought a hot water flask or readymade tea. Little did I expect what was to come next. They had a whole kitchen pulled out from the boot of the van.

The husband is a real handyman, architect by profession. He built all the shelves (can be opened from outside and inside in case it is cold), equipped with a gas stove, cooking utensils, water tanks, pipes, and a stock of food. In fact, the whole van was equipped a pullout table, custom made lightings and shelves.

It was a 7-seater van turned into a caravan. They can sleep, cook and dine comfortably in there. They cooked noodles with eggs and cabbage, and with mussels that were pulled out of the sea. What a life… to explore the beauty of the great outdoors in the comforts of your own “home”.

Interesting Firsts:
Saw a fully black sheep. (Baa baa black sheep - apparently we’re not allowed to say that anymore. It’s politically incorrect. Colour discrimination apparently. Unbelievable.)
