Melbourne has been experiencing a drought from the dry summer. On top of it, a heat wave hit this week. The people are on a strict water rationing, the parks are on a fire ban, and the tourists are getting sunburned.
A lake in Ballarat where the Olympic rowing team used to row in… now completely dry:

“Why is the grass yellow and the trees still green?” asked mum. “Because the grass roots are shallow and the tree roots go deep down,” answered Uncle Eric, dad’s god-brother who’s our tour guide in Melbourne. “Now that’s a pohfound statement,” thinks Poh, reflectively.
Flashback:
A speaker at the Colour Conference said, “The grass is not greener on the other side, neither is it greener on this side. The grass is greener when we water it.” And that’s how we should water our lives.
